The Guinness World Record for volleyball lasted 85 hours and took place in the Netherlands in December 2011. The members of the SVU Volleybal were the ones who played the longest marathon. It involved a total of 63 matches which consisted of 338 sets as well as a total of 14,635 points total.

Regarding that 87:85 set supposedly played in 1979 Czechoslovakian League, maybe our Slovakian friend Berny can check for us. Though the archives of former Czechoslovakian federation stayed with the Czech federation in Prague, perhaps our friend can verify this for us, once he speaks Czech.
The most consecutive volleyball passes is 110 in an event hosted by the Triangle Volleyball Club at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, on 5 February 2010. Members of the club and friends had broken the previous record of 92 with an attempt of 96 passes earlier in the day.

This is by far the longest set played in volleyball history. It was very interesting to see how each team played under pressure. I would like to say that I thought that USA was playing very good and that they continue to play good.
